The Edo State government is to establish education marshals to check loitering by students during school hours.
The state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, stated this during the launch of Edo-BEST programme in Benin.
Obaseki said the government will work with local governments to coordinate the marshals, who will be on watch to ensure that students do not loiter about during school hours.
He said parents who fail to ensure that their children are enrolled and remain in schools will be arrested, and fined.
