The Plateau State Government and UN Women, an organisation funded by the European Union and implemented by United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women, has strengthened their partnership and reviewed the state’s peace architecture.
The event which was organised by the Plateau Peace Building Agency, Plateau State Ministry of Women Affairs and UN Women, was held at Crest Hotel, Jos, with the peace stakeholders recommending an increase of women engagement in peace conflict process at all levels.
Governor Simon Bako Lalong who was represented by his special assistant on Institutions and Linkages, Mr. Samson Dewan, said the government was ready to work with any peace organisation that would contribute to long lasting peace.
