The Nigerian KAICIID Fellows, a network of 35 peacebuilders from diverse faith traditions, have urged calm and coordinated action as violent attacks persist across several states.

In a statement signed by Chairman Prof. Awal Abdulsalam and Secretary Elder Justina Ngwobia, the group called for unity and responsible leadership, warning that recent international rhetoric, including comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, has heightened public anxiety and could complicate local peace efforts.

The Fellows noted that ongoing violence in Plateau, Kaduna, Benue, Niger, Zamfara, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Borno and Yobe has affected people of all religions, calling it a humanitarian crisis that demands urgent, collective action.

They urged government institutions to strengthen security responses, asked faith leaders to intensify interfaith dialogue, and encouraged civil society and international partners to support peacebuilding efforts grounded in local realities.

Reaffirming their commitment to dialogue, the Fellows said peace, justice and shared responsibility are essential to safeguarding lives and strengthening national unity.
