A medical report by the Babcock University Teaching Hospital in Ogun State said the patient was diagnosed over a year ago in a peripheral hospital.
According to the report, signed by the Unit Consultant, Dr Uche-Chinomnso Michael, Taiwo has been on maintenance for dialysis pending renal transplant surgery.
An ongoing fundraising effort by family and friends has yielded about ₦10 million, which stands at 60% less the estimated medical cost.

Soliciting assistance, the father and mother of the patient, Mr & Mrs Oduneye, called on well-meaning individuals, philanthropists, governmental and non-governmental organisations and corporate establishments to support their family through the difficult phase.
The distressed parents stated that their son had been leading a normal life alongside his twin brother, Kehinde Oduneye, before the shocking diagnosis of chronic renal failure.
As Taiwo grapples with the devastating impact of the chronic ailment, his depressed parents and friends continue to seek financial assistance from the public to save the life of their ailing son and friend.
