Graduate jailed for criminal impersonation in Ogun

A Federal High Court in Abeokuta, yesterday, jailed a graduate of Economics from a public university in Southwest Nigeria for four months, having been found guilty of  criminal impersonation.

Justice Watilat Ibrahim handed down the judgment in an amended one-count charge filed against the convict, Fredrick Shuaibu, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan zonal office. The court  ordered that he restitutes to his victim the sum of  $1,000. Fredrick was said to have fraudulently impersonate one Kristen Polochak, a white female, via the email address [email protected], using same to dupe one Jim Fletcher of the sum of $1,000.

Before his arrest, the convict was said to be awaiting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation for the mandatory one-year national youth service after completing his four-year programme in the university.
