Graduates seek closer ties between Nigeria, S/Arabia

Nigerian graduates in Saudi Arabia schools have called for closer ties between both countries to foster development and tackle terrorism.

They made the call in Abuja yesterday at an international summit of the Nigeria Forum for Honouring the Two Holy Mosques, in collaboration with the League of Saudi Universities alumni-Nigeria.

They said such collaboration would also reduce incidences of misrepresentation of Islam.

The Secretary-General of the alumni, Muhamad Munir Ilyas, urged Nigerians who had studied in Saudi Arabia to promote peace in Nigeria and other places.

He also charged them to support the Nigerian government’s peace-building efforts.

He urged Saudi Arabia to continue to support scholarships for Nigerians; and beneficiaries, to make the best use of the opportunities to promote Arabic language and Islam.
