National President of Association of Nigerian Architectural Professionals (ANAP), Dr. Olusegun Moses suggested that the green architecture should be implemented in all its projects relating to building.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), Moses absolved architects of blame in the incessant building collapse incidents in the country.   
He said, “Members of the profession should support that 100 percent, in fact, the profession is not just to support it, it should encourage and advocate that green architecture should be the in thing”.
 He said architects are not to blame for failure of building, saying, “Personally, I don’t see building collapse as the fault of an architect. An architect is not responsible for the standing of a building. The structural stability of a building is the responsibility of the structural engineer.
 “However, there is also what we call architectural failure in which case it will be standing but not functioning the way it should function. It may be standing offensively to the eye.
“Such building may eventually lead to structural failure and affect the wall. If some architectural failures are not addressed they can lead progressively to building collapse.”
The President said the association is addressing the challenge of quackery which he noted was not only peculiar to the profession.
