The Divisional Police headquarters in Sule Tankarkar LGA of Jigawa State has launched an investigation into an incident involving a newly married man, who allegedly orchestrated an incident, which led to the death of his wife, few days after their wedding.
SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said preliminary reports show that the groom was alleged to have conspired with his friends, one Nura Basiru (20), Muttaka Lawan (20) and Hamisu Musa (20), all of Tungo village in Albasu District, Sule Tankarkar LGA to enter their matrimonial home with intention of coercing his bride into non-consensual sexual activity.
The wife reportedly died in the process.
The woman, who was said to have reportedly disagreed with her husband on marital relations since their wedding, raised the alarm following the incident.

The PPRO said upon receiving the report, a team of policemen led by the DPO, rushed to the scene and the body was evacuated to Gumel General Hospital, where the doctor on call confirmed her death.
He said the corpse was released to her parents for burial.
SP Lawan Shiisu Adam said the four suspects had been apprehended and taken into custody for discreet investigation.
He said the Commissioner of Police in the state, AT Abdullahi, had directed that the case be transferred to the State CID in Dutse for a discreet investigation, adding the suspects would be prosecuted thereafter.
