The APC National Vanguard has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider supporting a second term for Siminalayi Fubara, citing what it described as developmental efforts in Rivers State.

In a statement issued on Thursday by its National President, Dr. Gbenga Salam (JP), the group said its position followed what it characterised as an assessment of infrastructure and public service projects under the current administration.

The group said its appeal was based on its view that governance outcomes should be a key consideration in political decisions, particularly in a state as economically significant as Rivers.

“We respectfully urge the leadership of the APC to consider continuity in Rivers State, based on observed development efforts and governance priorities,” the statement read.

According to the group, its delegation visited selected project sites across the state, including road construction and urban renewal initiatives.

It said the projects, in its view, indicate efforts to extend development to different parts of the state.

“Our observations suggest a government focused on infrastructure and service delivery across various communities,” Dr. Salam said.

The group also referenced what it described as resource management efforts by the administration, noting that the projects reviewed appeared to reflect planning and allocation of funds.

“At a time of broader economic challenges, these efforts, in our view, point to a commitment to delivering public projects,” the statement added.

The APC National Vanguard further stated that governance continuity could support the completion of ongoing initiatives, while noting the broader importance of stability in public administration.

“Leadership is often assessed based on outcomes. In this case, we believe there are indications of ongoing development efforts,” Dr. Salam said.

The group encouraged continued engagement among political stakeholders and emphasised that decisions should prioritise public interest.

In addition, it expressed support for President Tinubu’s administration and its policy direction, while urging Nigerians to remain engaged with governance processes.

“We reiterate our support for ongoing national reforms and encourage sustained efforts toward economic stability and institutional development,” the statement added.

The group concluded by urging political actors to focus on governance and public service delivery in their decisions.
