The National Directorate of Townhall, Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria, on Monday announced plans to commence a nationwide students’ outreach across tertiary institutions in the country.
The group said the programme would be carried out in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, schools of nursing and other approved institutions across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement jointly signed by the National Director of RTIFN, Hon. Deborah Farida Ibrahim, and the Director of Students and Youth Engagement, Comrade Adakole Ochai, the initiative was themed, “Students for Renewed Hope and National Development.”
The organisation said the outreach was designed to sensitise students on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while encouraging youth participation in governance and nation-building.
According to the statement, the programme will also focus on leadership development, political awareness and national unity among Nigerian youths.
“The outreach will cover sensitisation on the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, civic responsibilities, voter participation, student empowerment opportunities and interactive townhall sessions with students and youth leaders,” the statement noted.
RTIFN stressed that Nigerian students must play active roles in democratic processes through peaceful engagement and responsible leadership.
The organisation also appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission and the management of NELFUND to support the initiative across the states.
It said such collaboration would help students better understand voter education, democratic rights and educational opportunities provided by the Federal Government.
The group further appreciated student bodies, youth stakeholders and members of the press for supporting youth-focused programmes across the country.
RTIFN equally commended the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, and the Director-General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, Mr Charles Odii, for their commitment to youth empowerment.
The organisation also praised Seyi Tinubu for what it described as his unwavering support towards youth development and national progress.
RTIFN called on Student Union Governments, the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students and youths across the country to actively participate in the programme.
