Speaking at a press conference organised by the group in Abuja yesterday the group spokesperson, Comrade Jasper Azuatalam stated that, the victim was arrested in Abuja by men of the Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) of the Nigeria police from Bayelsa State on the orders of the state governor.
Comrade Jasper further added that, the victim was not taken to court and was denied bail despite an application filed by his lawyer, Barrister Doueyi Fiderikumo, in the High Court of Byelsa state for the enforcement of his fundamental human right.
The group further alleged that, in an effort to frustrate their efforts, the state charged the victim to a magistrate court on the 5th of October and charged him for publication of defamatory statement against the person of the governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, a day to the hearing for his fundamental human rights enforcement at the High Court.
