Group donates to schools for the handicapped in Ogun

The group which was led to the school located at Adigbe area of Abeokuta by the Chairman of the group’s Non-Interest Cooperative Society, Mr Fashola Surajudeen, and the leader of the Women Forum, Mrs Ramat Adedayo urged the pupils to reciprocate the good gesture from their teachers with dedication to their studies.

Speaking while handing over the materials to the school’s management, Mr Fashola, who represented the national coordinator of the group, Alhaji Kabir Omosanya, explained that the group considers every creature of Allah equal and urged people to treat them with respect irrespective of their physical impairment.

While promising to donate more to the development of education, particularly those who are less privileged, the group spokesman also disclosed that some of the children whose parents could not afford payment of fees were being sponsored by the group.

He therefore commended the teachers for their efforts, saying, “as you take care of somebody’s children, Allah will take care of yours,”

In his remarks, the Head Teacher of the school, Mr Sunday Adekanbi, who lamented lack of some teaching aids in the school, which he said were very expensive said, “if not for the efforts of some nongovernmental organisations, the school might not have been coping with the challenges.”

He commended the group for its usual visits to the school to bring succor, disclosing that apart from the teaching aids brought by the group, the school has also received foodstuffs from it which according to him, has really assisted, the running of the school.

Adekanbi who also commended the state governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel for his concern about the school, said the employment of specialised teachers into the school has rescued the school from going under.

He urged other philanthropists and NGOs to come to the aid of the school by donating some materials needed for the development of the school to encourage the pupils.
