The organisation made the donation when its President Otunba Basirat Nahibi led a delegation to South Sudan to solicit for peace and sympathize with the country over loss of lives during its internal conflict.
Nahibi, while presenting the items to the first lady of the country, Mrs. Mary Ayen Mayardit, said the donation was a token contribution to alleviate the sufferings of internally displaced persons from the internal conflict. The items donated included 600 bags of maize and 100 cartons of milk.
On a visit to President Salva Kiir, Nahibi said while they are not apportioning blames on anyone, circumstances leading to the death and destructions of property could have been avoided by all parties.
The delegation pleaded with the government of South Sudan and all other parties involved in the conflict to give peace a chance by promoting the virtues of living together in harmony.
