A civic group, Citizens for Good Governance (CGG), has applauded the Nigeria Police Force for its handling of the ongoing investigation into alleged fraudulent activities involving Prince Adelaja Adeoye and his property firm, Fendini Homes.
In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Gboyega Oladayo, the group noted that Prince Adelaja’s conflicting public claims about his arrest—initially denying it before later admitting to being detained and bailed—cast serious doubt on his credibility. CGG described the inconsistency as “a pattern of deception” that justifies the need for a meticulous and forensic investigation.
“The Nigeria Police acted within their constitutional powers, and we commend them for their professionalism in the face of public misinformation,” the statement read.
The group further called on the Oyo State Government to fully cooperate with investigators by providing unfettered access to project records and approval documents related to Fendini Homes, warning that any attempt to obscure facts would erode public trust.
Beyond the state authorities, CGG also urged national anti-corruption agencies to trace financial transactions and identify potential accomplices, stressing that this case represents a broader test of Nigeria’s ability to combat elite-driven fraud.
“This is not just about Fendini Homes or one individual,” the group stated. “It’s a test of whether Nigeria will protect honest entrepreneurship or enable deception under the guise of investment and property development.”
The group concluded by reiterating its support for the Nigeria Police and warning all stakeholders that “the eyes of the nation are watching” as the case unfolds.
