Group knocks Buhari over non-payment of August salary before Sallah

The Society for Muslim Youth of Nigeria (SMYN) has berated President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo for not ordering the payment of August salary before the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Speaking through its National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Abdulhamid, at a press conference in Jos on Tuesday, the group said non-payment of August salary has made a lot of federal government Muslim workers to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir in a difficult situation.

The group added that had it been President Buhari and his Vice, Osinbajo ordered the payment of the salary it would enable the workers to celebrate Sallah with smiles on their faces.

He said, “Last year federal government Christians workers were paid their salary before Christmas and they celebrated the Christmas in a happy state, but now their Muslims counterpart haven’t received their salaries which is not a good omen for Buhari considering the fact we are heading for 2019 elections.”

He explained that a lot of Muslim workers haven’t buy ram because they don’t have money, adding that if the August salary was paid, it would help the workers to buy ram and take care of other needs.

The group commended the state governors for the prompt payment of August salaries which enable states government workers to celebrate Sallah happily.
