Over 250 youth football players and other residents of Abaji, Kwali, Kuje, Gwagwalada, AMAC and Bwari in the FCT jogged and walked from Area 1 to Area 10 where the exercise culminated in an address by the National President of the organization, Mr. Osapegun Sanmi.

The president said the exercise was aimed at sensitizing Abuja residents on the need for them to go out and register as it is only when they register that they would be able to vote into office credible leaders of their choice.

He expressed happiness that the exercise attracted the desired response as the targeted youths voluntarily turned out in large numbers to walk and jog for Jonathan and Sambo.

“I am delighted to see this crowd that has come to jog for Jonathan/Sambo. This is our own contribution to a credible election come April. By this exercise, we expect all eligible Nigerians to come out and register their names in the voters register.

“It is only when you register that you will be able to vote for candidates of your choice. We hope to carry out this exercise periodically. Apart from sensitization of residents, it will enable participants to gain physical fitness.

“A healthy body produces a sound mind and this is one of the aims and objectives of this walking and jogging exercise”.

Technical director of the organization, Coach Mohammed Obafemi also disclosed that the proposed Jonathan/Sambo Grassroot football tournament will kick start in February but the fixtures for the championship will be ready by the end of this month.
