A non-governmental organisation, Network for Peace and Protection for the Right of Children and Women (NEPAPROCW), has commenced offering free medical services in some Jos communities.

The group said the free medical services were meant to cushion the suffering of people at the grassroots especially at this moment when life was very difficult.

Fatima Hamza Sahara, who is the founder of the group, told Benue/Plateau on Wednesday in Jos that aside from the promotion of the medical services, the group also engaged in the promotion of peaceful co-existence among the various groups in the state.

“Seeing how women and children become vulnerable, we felt it is significant to come to their aid, that is why part of our activities is to promote the right of vulnerable women and children, orphans, widows and other less privileged members of the society,’’ she said.

The founder said the medical outreach, which started from Ali Kazaure, Cobe, Laying Zana, and Sarkin Arab areas would be extended to other communities of the state.

She called on members of the various communities to cooperate with them to achieve the desired goal of the group.
