A non-governmental organization, Argungu Educational Aids for the Underprivileged Foundation (AEAUF), has pledged to improve literacy in the northern part of the country through educational and vocational empowerment programme for the underprivileged.
A letter from the group signed by the Chairman Board of Trustee, Sani abdullahi, said that with the continual decline in human development indices and Nigeria having highest number of out-of-school children and over 50 per cent living in poverty called for urgent and decisive initiatives to raise literacy level of the underprivileged.
