A Pro Tinubu support group and Civil Society Organisation, Tinubu Continuity Project (TCP) has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr. Mele Kyari, the Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for aggressive pursuit of results oriented reforms in the oil industry, removing fuel subsidy, refineries activation and other reforms in the oil sector.

The group in a statement by its deputy communication director, Nzube Ugochukwu, hailed the President for revitalising the nations ailing refineries and initiating reforms for the betterment of the oil sector.

She expressed satisfaction with gains recorded so far, saying that, efforts must be made to sustain it through collective support to the administration and collaboration with the government.

The statement reads, “We highly commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Mr. Mele Kyari, the Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) for removing fuel subsidy. Though it was a difficult decision, the President knew that it was for the good of everyone.

“The refineries reactivation and other reforms in the oil sector is in a bid to increase refining capacity, end importation of petroleum products and create millions of jobs. With a combined capacity of 445,000 barrels per day BPD, the moribund state of Nigeria’s 4 refineries was to say the least, a deliberate economic sabotage which previous administrations willfully superintendent over. The vision and determination of Mele Kyari, in his role as the Group CEO of NNPCL, played a crucial role in spearheading the efforts to fix these refineries is worthy of commendation.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must be applauded for its proactive approach in addressing the issues that had hindered the operations of refineries for so long. It is with the full support of the Federal Government that the Dangote refinery is also operating at full capacity despite attempts to paint the government in bad light by anti-patriotic elements. The removal of the subsidy is a necessary step towards sustainable economic growth. The current global economic climate is challenging, but the government has always been committed to finding ways to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians. We urge the federal government to channel more of these funds towards education and youth development, investing in these areas will ensure a brighter future for our country and empower the next generation to drive sustainable growth.”
