A Muslim group, AR-Rahaman Empowerment Foundation, in Osun State has procured hairdryers, sewing machines and computer sets for some indigent women in the state as part of moves to alleviate poverty and make them self-sustained.

The founder, Mallam Bamidele Mutiu, said the Foundation was set up to help the needy, particularly the women and children who genuinely require support to enable them live well.

The tools were presented to the beneficiaries at the 8th annual empowerment programme of the group held at Inisha in Odo-Otin local government area of the state.

Mutiu remarked that the motive behind the gesture was to assist the indigent women to enable them earn legitimate income and cater for their children.

He said the group had been assisting poor women and indigent youths in the state in the past eight years and promised to continue with the gesture with the hope to eradicate poverty among the people of Osun.

Mutiu lauded the generosity of Alhaji Basheer Adegboyega Bello, the founder of New Transformation Foundation for supporting AR-Rahaman Empowerment Foundation in its mission.
