The APC Media Advocacy Network (AMAN) has raised concerns over the circulation of online content it says could create tension between the Presidency and the Kogi State Government.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, the group said it had observed an increase in videos, messages, and publications on social media that were being portrayed as originating from supporters of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo or former Governor Yahaya Bello.

According to AMAN’s spokesman, Wisdom Ohalete, such materials could create misunderstanding among key political stakeholders and give the impression of internal divisions. He urged the Presidency and the public to be cautious about online content that may be misleading or taken out of context.

The group noted that some of the materials were circulating across platforms including WhatsApp and Facebook, and warned that they could be used to push personal political narratives ahead of future elections.

AMAN also expressed concern that some content creators may be producing inflammatory material that could heighten tension. It called on security agencies to identify those responsible and ensure that peace within the party and the state is maintained.

The group confirmed that one individual linked to some of the videos had been arrested and was assisting with investigations.

AMAN appealed to stakeholders to avoid actions that could escalate political tension and urged the public to verify information before sharing it.

It also emphasized the need to safeguard the cordial relationship between the Presidency and the Kogi State Government and to support efforts aimed at strengthening unity within the party.
