The Soroptimist International (SI) of Gwarinpa has renovated six blocks of toilets at the Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse.
The club’s president, Dr Helen Okeleka-Adesanya, said the renovation was part of the club’s mission of reaching out to girls and women in the society.
“The choice of Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse was informed on the premise that our club is charged with the responsibility to educate, empower and enable the girl child and women through programmes,” she said.
She added that the facility would help to improve the health of students and the teachers in the school and implored them to make good use of them.
Okeleka-Adesanya also commended the school’s principal for her support and cooperation towards the realisation of the project.
The school’s principal, Hajiya Binta Rabe, who was represented by Mrs Imoroa Elizabeth, commended the group for the initiative and enjoined other groups to emulate the gesture.
She assured the group that the facility would be used judiciously.
