The leadership of the Association of Northern Nigerian students (ANNS) has disclosed plans to honour personalities into the ANNS Hall of Fame for their outstanding performance in the development of education in the country.
This was contained in a statement signed by the President of the Senate, ANNS, Comrade Adamu Adamu Matazu in Kaduna on Wednesday.
He said the association decided to pass a "Vote of Confidence" on the leadership of the Provost of USCOE, Gashua, Malam Muhammad Gishiwa for lifting the college from the status of a village institution to a world-class College of Education that can compete favourable in the comity of Nigerian Colleges of Education.
He added, “There is no doubt that under the watch of the Provost, USCOE have seen a robust progress in terms of infrastructure, accreditation of more courses and over growth and development in all areas.
He pointed out that the notable achievements recorded in the college informed the decision of the leadership of ANNS to hold its upcoming 15th "Senate Meeting" in the institution and confers on the Provost with the ANNS Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Platinum Leadership Award of excellence as the "Most Outstanding Provost (North-East).”
He noted that the Senate Meeting is scheduled to hold on Friday March 30th, 2018 and will be followed by the Investiture of outstanding personalities into the ANNS Hall of Fame on Saturday 31st March 2018.
It will be recalled that ANNS is the umbrella student’s organization of the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, with a population of over 12 million students, studying both at home and abroad.
