Biya Farms Group Limited in Jos, Plateau State has trained over 67,000 unemployed youths and women on poultry and fisheries production in the North Central and the Southern region this year.

Alhaji Bilyamin Almustapha, the Managing Director of the Group, who disclosed this in Keffi, Nasarawa State recently, said the training was under the farm’s youths and women empowerment scheme.

He said the group has trained over 20,000 youths and women in Barkin Ladi, Mangu, Shendam, Bassa and Bokkos in Plateau State.

“In Nasarawa State, we have trained over 3,800 unemployed youths and women: We trained 2,000 youths and women in Lafia; 1,000 in Keffi and 800 in Akwanga LGA,” he explained.

The company said it also trained over 40,000 youths and women in the South -South region, particularly on fisheries and poultry farming in Calabar, Cross River State.

”When you sum them up, it will give you 67,000 youths and women trained on poultry and fisheries production. All these trainings were done to equip them with management, sanitary and fisheries production skills to enable them become self-reliant,” he said.

Immaculata Emmanuel, the South-South Zonal Coordinator of the farm also restated her commitment to continue driving trainings to help unemployed Nigerians poultry and fisheries skills so they can be self-reliant.
