About 78 people were said to have lost their lives and over 200 injured hospitalised.
The national president of the association, Engr. Olu Andah Wai-Ogosu, said the visit was to express sympathy and offer words of encouragement to the victims.
The visit, which took place on the Earth Day, a day declared to keep the environment healthy and sustainable, saw the members of the group donating an undisclosed amount of money to help take care of the victims.
Wai-Ogosu facilitated with families of those who lost their loved ones and joined other well meaning Nigerians to condemn terrorism and wanton destruction of innocent lives and properties.
He called on all Nigerians to join hands with the federal government in the fight against terrorism.
Speaking on the Earth Day, Wai-Ogosu said the group commemorated World Earth Day, a global event that is celebrated every 22nd day of April.
He noted that the theme for this year is ‘Green Cities’ which promotes livability and sustainability of cities.
He said there was need to check on the way we use our energy, calling for a reduction on our dependence on brown economy (oil and gas).
According to Wai-Ogosu, Nigerian Environmental Society is amongst the privileged professional bodies that are participating at the ongoing National Conference whose aspiration is for the conference to chart a new course for the existence of every group in Nigeria, to promote and sustain the growth of the nation in all its ramifications.
Speaking earlier, Dr Gaf Momoh, Director Clinical Services, National Hospital who received the group on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Bello Shehu, commended the group for its support.
