The Legacy Initiative International(LII), a coalition for credible and sustainable leadership, has called on the leaders of the major faith-based organisations to unite and work towards giving Nigeria a credible leader.
The Grand Patron, Dr Kenny Martins, made the call at the first stakeholders’ dinner and interactive session with the theme “Inter-Faith Collaboration in Nation Building”.
Martins said what the organization sought to do was to enlist the support of leaders of the two dominant faith groups to work together and lend their experience, integrity and organizational prowess to the development of our nascent democracy.
According to him, when the right person occupies the seat of government there will be national stability.
One of such issues the group seeks out to address is to advice the Nigerian electorate on the type of candidate that will bring about the much needed rapid development for the country.
Martins said “We are by no means advocating the practice of theocracy as a system of government or that religious leaders should take over our hard earned democracy; what we are advocating is already in practice but in an uncoordinated manner.”
