The Board of Directors of foremost pharmaceutical company, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc (GSK), has appointed Kunle Oyelana its new Managing Director (MD).
Mr Oyelana’s appointment, which took effect from June 1, 2019, was announced at the 48th Annual General Meeting of the company held recently.
A pharmacist by training, Oyelana brings to the board 20 years wealth of experience in the pharmaceutical industry,14 of which were spent in managerial positions spanning Africa and Asia.
In his previous role as a Commercial Director for the Classic and Established Products (CEP) portfolio for GSK in Africa, and Developing Countries of Asia region, he provided stimulus for the over 40 markets in the region to achieve strong double-digit growth of key assets in challenging environments.
Reacting to his appointment, Mr Oyelana said: “I am excited at this new opportunity, and I’m confident about the outlook for the GSK business in Nigeria. Together, with the resilience of the Nigerian team, we hope to continue to serve our customers, grow our brands and contribute to the economic growth of Nigeria.
