The management of Guarantee Trust Bank has donated 100 pieces of 3-seater chairs worth N1.3m to Giginyu Special Primary school, just as the Executive Director of the bank, Alhaji Haruna Musa renovated a classroom block at the school.
Presenting the chairs to the school management, Musa said the gesture was part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility.
Musa explained that, “Few months ago, the bank donated food items to children at Torrey Orphanage home, Tudun-Maliki quarters and freed some inmates at Kurmawa Central prison.”
The executive director assured that the management of the bank would continue to render more social services to the host community as part of its social corporate responsibility.
Responding the Chairman, Giginyu Forum, Alhaji Abdullahi Baso, commended the bank for the gesture and assured of good use of the items donated to the school.
Alhaji Baso therefore, urged banks and other financial institutions to emulate GTBank by rendering similar services to public schools in the state.
He noted that the burdens of education should not be left with government alone, saying “Individuals and organisations have a role to play to the overall development of education sub-sector.”
