A Kano Sharia court has ordered the remand of a 25-year-old security guard, Khalifa Zakariya, for stealing a Tecno handset worth N13,000.

The police charged Zakariya, who lives in Fagge Quarters, Kano, with criminal trespass and theft.

The prosecutor, Mr Abdul Wada, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 22 at Fagge Quarters Kano.

Wada said that on the same date at about 1pm the defendant criminally trespassed into the shop of one Jamilu Rabiu at Kantin Kwari and stole his handset.

The Khadi, Alhaji Ismai’l Muhammad-Ahmed, adjourned to September 16.
