Labour Party Governorship candidate in Kwara state, Dr. Mike Omotosho has disclosed that he would concede defeat like President Good luck Jonathan did during the March 28 presidential election if the elections were free and fair.
He however, urged the incumbent governors seeking re-election and other members of the Houses Assembly to also concede defeat if they lose.
Omotosho, who spoke with news men shortly after casting his votes at Obo-Aiyegunle polling units 003 Ekiti local government area of Kwara state, said, “Once the elections are free and fair, we will accept it just like the president accepted. We are urging the incumbents too to please take heart if and when they are defeated. The fact that the incumbents have an edge has been dymistified”.
Also speaking at Isapa, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Simeon Ajibola noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not improve on the process of accreditation from March 28 elections.
Asked if he would concede defeat lIke Jonathan did if he lost the election, he said, “Let the result come out first”.
He however commended the President for conceding defeat even when the winner of presidential elections had not been declared by INEC.
