A gunman has shot and killed a 22-year-old pastoralist in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was gathered that the deceased, Muazu Saleh Jibo, was killed on Tuesday while rearing his animals in Fadan Atakad.

Confirming the incident, the state Chairman of  Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Haruna Usman, said the deceased was gunned down ‎without any  provocation.

‎”He was in the area rearing his animals when the local opened fire on him and killed him on the spot without any provocation.

“Late Muazu was buried on Wednesday evening after his parents arrived from Bauchi.‎ But we have called on our people to be patient and allow security agencies to handle the matter,” he said.

He also appealed to the state government to ensure that the perpetrator was brought to book.

Effort to get the police command’s spokesman, DSP Yakubu Sabo’s, reaction proved abortive.
