Gunmen have reportedly abducted 13 passengers who were travelling in a Benue State-owned transport company vehicle – Benue Links – along the dilapidated Naka road of the state.
Our correspondent reports that in a similar development, a man, his wife and their driver were on Monday morning also said to have been abducted at the same Naka route while they were travelling in their car.
Witnesses said that the passengers were travelling from Otukpo to Makurdi in the Benue Links bus en-route Naka road in Gwer West Local Government Area of the state on Thursday when they were attacked at Tyolaha village by the armed men.
A witness said that the bus had 16 occupants but only three of the victims escaped from the gunmen who led others into the bush.

The incident, which was said to have happened on November 9, 2023 at Tyolaha Ahume community on Naka – Makurdi road had become a frequent occurrence.
The Acting General Manager of Benue Links, Comrade Alexander Fanafa, admitted in a telephone conversation with our correspondent that a bus belonging to the company was hijacked by criminals on Naka road.
Fanafa however said he does not have the details of the incident.
Contacted, spokeswoman for Benue Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, did not respond to calls or text messages put through her telephone.
