Three quarry workers at Megabolex Quarry site in Idi Ayunre area of Ibadan,  Oyo State,  were on Wednesday abducted by unknown gunmen.

The quarry site is located along the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode road is in Oluyole Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the incident said the police and hunters were already searching for the victims, adding that efforts have been intensified to arrest the suspects.

“Yes, they were abducted on Tuesday. Despite our efforts, these criminals are still going behind to kidnap people. The police are collaborating with local hunters to ensure the release of the victims. Efforts are on to arrest the suspects. We have intensified efforts,” he said.

It will be recalled that three farmers in the local government area were abducted three weeks ago.

Speaking on Wednesday’s abduction, a worker at the site, Tope Solomon, who narrowly escaped the kidnapping, said the incident occurred around 4:30 pm.

He identified the abducted workers as Ubong Jacob, Amisu Isaac and Wasiu.
