A housewife and her three stepchildren have been abducted by terrorists in Jabiri Quarters, Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Daily Trust learnt that the gunmen invaded one of the residences of one Shamsudeen Muhammad Kalgo in the early hours of Tuesday, April 12, and whisked away his wife, Malama Badiyya Shamsu and his children, Almustapha Shamsu,12, Zainab, 9, and Halima Siyama Shamsu, 6.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, Shamsudeen’s elder brother who pleaded anonymity said his younger brother was with his first wife at another residence when the incident happened.
“He has two wives and each is living at a separate house. The victim is the younger wife. They recently got married, not up to five months ago, so the children, who are on vacation belong to the other wife. The children were actually four at the time, but they abducted three and left the little one among them,” he said.
He added that the abductors have contacted the family and assured them the captives were in good condition. They, however, have not started negotiation for their release.
The spokesman for the police in the state, SP Gambo Isah, did not either pick up calls or respond to message sent to him on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
