A resident of the chiefdom said people were still trying to contact the abductors.

Prince Dakup Ezra, a member, representing Panshin South State Constituency, called for calm on the issue, saying that the safe return of the chief is paramount.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident.
