It was also learnt that the victim was being abducted for the second time.
Witnesses said the kidnappers disguised themselves as worshippers during a special evening programme of the church and that after the service; they trailed the victim to his car where they abducted him.
“Suddenly, they began to fire gunshots sporadically while people in the environment scampered to safety; the gunmen forcefully took away the pastor on a motorcycle.
“They actually rode on two motorcycles,” one witness said.
A family source told our correspondent that the kidnappers contacted relatives of the proprietor yesterday morning and demanded for N10 million as ransom.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Benue Command, Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident, saying that operatives of the command were doing everything possible to secure the release of the proprietor.
