A 60-year-old farmer in Tsiga town of Katsina State has been abducted by gunmen, Daily Trust has learnt.

It was gathered that Emmanuel Kwanki was picked up by gunmen at his residence in the town in the early hours Wednesday.

Confirming the incident, the victim’s younger brother, Ismaila Kwanki, said they whisked his brother away after locking up all other family member.

Ismaila said Emmanuel contacted him yesterday around 3pm to inform him that he was still in the abductor’s custody at an unknown location and since then no word has been heard from him or his abductors.

When contacted, spokesman of the state police command, DSP Gambo Isah, promised to get back to this reporter but never did till press time.

It could be recalled that two weeks ago a 14-year-old girl was kidnapped in Kankia, with her abductors demanding for N100 million for her release.
