Gunmen kidnap APC chairman in Zamfara

Suspected armed bandits on Tuesday kidnapped Sani Dangwaggo, a ward chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Bakura local government area of Zamfara state, Daily Trust has learnt.

Residents told Daily Trust that the gunmen riding on motorbikes went into the house of the APC chairman and whisked him away to unknown destination.

“After they had arrived at the village, they went straight to his house where they forcefully took him on one of their motorcycles and left without harming anybody,” a source said.

The source said the abducted party chairman is a biological brother to to a former commissioner, Bello Dankande Gamji, whose children were abducted last month.

The spokesman of the state police command SP Muhammad Shehu could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
