Gunmen have reportedly killed an Internally Displaced Person (IDP), Ikyumbu Aondowase (30), who was returning from his farm in Tse-Iyo village in Sengev Council Ward in Gwer West LGA of Benue State.

A former manager of the Agagbe IDP Camp in Gwer West, Ibaah Jacob, said the incident happened on Sunday evening when the victim, in company of others, was returning from his farm.

He said, “Yesterday, July 14, 2024, Aondowase was shot and killed by the attackers while the others escaped with bullet wounds. Mr Achin Terzungwe (45) was one of those wounded during the attack. Five people are still missing.”

The police spokeswoman in the state, SP Catherine Anene, said she was not aware of the incident.
