Gunmen have reportedly killed two people in Odugbo community of Apa LGA in Benue State.

Our correspondent reports that the gunmen also injured three people – two in the Odugbo community attack while the remaining one, a woman was matcheted on her farm in neigbouring Agatu LGA.

Locals said that both incidents happened on Monday evening and that the injured ones have been taken to the hospital.

Barrister Eche Akpoko, who is the Chairman of the Apa Development Association, in a text message to our correspondent on Tuesday, said “It has been confirmed that Godwin Ela and Danladi Edoh, both of Odugbo were killed by people suspected to be herders along Ukpogo Edikwu on the March 4, 2024.”

Similarly, a villager who identified himself simply as Adakole, said armed invaders on Monday, March 4, matcheted a young lady named Oduda Oloche, a native of Odejo Community in Agatu LGA of the state.

He said the victim sustained a very deep cut on her waist from the attack which happened in her farm, adding that she is now battling for her life in the hospital. Police spokesperson for Benue command, SP Catherine Anene, said she hadn’t received any reports on both attacks yet.
