Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed an expatriate, his police orderly and one other person on the Ajaokuta-Lokoja highway. 

Daily Trust learnt that the expatriate, who was travelling alongside the police orderly and another yet to be identified staff, ran into the gunmen on the highway on Saturday morning.

It was learnt that efforts by the police orderly to resist the gunmen from kidnapping the expatriate led to exchange of gunfire. The expatriate, the police orderly and the other staff were killed in the gun battle. 

The hoodlums were said to have  been infuriated by the resistance from the police  orderly which led to exchange of gunfire.

Kogi State Police Public Relations of Officer, William Aya, confirmed the incident, saying investigation had commenced to fish out the perpetrators.
