Gunmen have reportedly killed a farmer, Ngbough Ashin, at his village, Tsekpar in Sengev Council Ward of Gwer West Local Government Area in Benue State.
Locals said Ashin was killed in his house at Tsekpar on Wednesday night by armed invaders.
The locals added that the body of the deceased was recovered early Thursday morning by members of the community.
A witness told our correspondent on phone that the armed invaders had attacked many villages in the council ward and sacked the occupants.

“The deceased was part of a few people that the security operatives escorted back home to resume work on their farm. But they were attacked last night and Ashin was killed.
“There is no safety yet in those villages because those who went back under security watch have returned back to camp while some of them were killed,” the witness explained.
Our correspondent reports that similar killings led to the violent protest which erupted in Naka, Gwer West LGA after three civil protection guards were hacked to death on Monday evening.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Catherine Anene, was yet to respond on the incident at the time of filing this report.
