Bandits have killed a newly wedded man and abducted his wife more than 10 days after their wedding in a community in Nasarawa State.
Witnesses told Daily Trust that the attackers stormed the couple’s residence at around 11:00 pm Wednesday, shot the husband dead, and kidnapped the wife, whisking her away to an unknown destination.
The incident occurred in Akaleku village, located in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, along the Lafia/Makurdi highway.
The victims, Mr and Mrs Alu Anzaku, had tied the knot on April 12, 2025.
Sources close to the family said they were likely still in their honeymoon phase when the tragic event occurred, cutting short their new life together.
As of the time of filing this report, family members and sympathisers remain deeply concerned, as there has been no word on the whereabouts or condition of the abducted wife.
Nasarawa State Police Command has yet to respond to enquiries about the incident as of press time.
