Gunmen suspected to be members of a local vigilante group have killed one Pastor Abraham Yorka at his home town, Oloko in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.

A member of the Oloko community, Monday Piit, said the men of Oloko community went to eat after working on the community farmland when they heard the shouts of women and children in the farmland which made many of them to flee.

Piit disclosed that the gunmen burnt houses, shot at people and also burnt his motorcycle.

He said the Oloko community later discovered it was a local vigilante group allegedly from a neighbouring community in Oyigbo LGA as some of their youth who escaped from the assailants revealed their identity to them.

Piit also alleged that some of the natives of Oloko community are still missing.

The acting spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, DSP Grace Koko, could not confirm the story at press time.
