One policeman was killed on Tuesday as gunmen attacked and burnt a divisional police headquarters at Arondizuogu in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State.

The attack, which happened around 2am on Tuesday, came less than 24 hours after some gunmen had attacked an army formation at Isinweke Awomama, killing one soldier.

Our correspondent gathered that the attack left the divisional police officer of the division with a broken head.

Also, an operational Siena vehicle and DPO’s personal vehicles were vandalised by the gunmen.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mike Abattam, confirmed the attack to our correspondent.

He said the state commissioner of police, Rabiu Hussaini, had ordered investigation into the attack.
