The series of attacks in Imo State has continued, with security operatives and highly-placed individuals on the receiving end.
Hours after the Umuguma Divisional Police Headquarters in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo was set ablaze and two officers killed, the country home of the President general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof George Obiozor, at Awo- Omanma in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo, was burnt down.
Our correspondent gathered that the attackers went to the Igbo leader’s home in vehicles and threw Improvised explosive explosive devices into the compound.
Obiozor was not at home when his house was attacked, but the incident was captured by closed circuit television mounted in the house.
Obiozor was yet to respond to an inquiry concerning the attack but one of his aides, who did not want his name to be named, confirmed the incident.
He called on the police to fish out those who carried out the arson.
The police spokesperson in the state, CSP Mike Abattam, who later confirmed the attack, said that the police have begun investigation.
