Gusau seeks to diversify NFF to clear debts

Presidential candidate for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) elections, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has vowed to diversify the NFF and generate more revenue in the areas of marketing and sponsorship.

Speaking during his unveiling of the vision and mission for the Dankaro House, Gusau said the NFF is in debt of almost N2bn accrued from hotel accommodation, allowances for national team players as well marketers.

Gusau who is an astute accountant of over 35 years said the board will be prudent while plugging the leakages.

“We need to mobilise additional revenue to fund our programmes. We urgently need to get our budget bigger. Generate more revenue and plug leakages in the system”

“As an accountant, we need to be prudent in our spending and make concise efforts in paying our debts,” he said.

He stressed that irrespective of the planning and strategies by all other candidates involved in the elections, God has already destined the end result during the polls.

The astute Zamfara FA chairman noted that the delegates know his competence and remain unperturbed that they’ll make the right decisions because his government will be transparent, efficient and collaborate with the goal of making the Super Eagles a global power force.

He also assured that he will improve the Super Falcons’ performance on the world stage and reposition the local league to rank among the best in the world as his policy thrust.

Gusau and 10 others will slug it out for the presidential ticket in the NFF elective congress slated for Benin City, Edo State.
