The Gwandara Development Educational and Cultural Associations (GWADECA) has elected new executives.

Mr. John Waje Mamman has been elected as president and Alhaji Mohammed Danazumi as vice president.

The president is also the newly elected acting Chairman of APC in Nasarawa State and the vice is the Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).

In his speech at the occasion, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who is a Gwandara and a Prince of Kwandare, said, “Gwandara people are peace loving. I enjoin you to continue living and tolerating non-ethnic people within and around you.

“A Gwandara man is a typical Hausa man because they took their root from Hausa culture and norms; which is obeying established authority.”

Senator Al-Makura who is the immediate past governor of the state pledged to build a hospital in a community at Awe, a road in a village in Giza and to sink a motorised borehole in Agyeragu town.

14 traditional rulers of Gwandara ethnic group in the state, among others, attended the event in Lafia.
