The chairman of the council, Musa Abbas Chiroma told Kanem Trust in an interview that despite the fact that Mobile Police Training School has been in Gwoza for many years, indigenes had not been given any special consideration during recruitment exercises.    

Chiroma pointed out that as host community who live peacefully with policemen on training, indigenes of the area have every reason to demand for their participation in the recruitment into the Nigerian Police.   

“We have teeming unemployed youths who are qualified for the recruitment, but to our dismay the police authority never bothered to set aside some vacancies for us despite our repeated appeals”, the chairman lamented.    

The local government boss observed that the indigenes were capable of contributing to the peace and security of the country, hence the need for the police to give them such opportunities.   

He said though the schools was a Federal Government Institution, the council would continue to it’s render assistance and support so as to contribute its quota in the protection of lives and property of the citizens.
