Hadejia emirate disburses N114m Zakat in one year

The Zakkat Committee of Hadejia Emirate in Jigawa State has said that it has collected and distributed zakat amounting to N114,210,159 in 1441 Islamic year.

The committee chairman and Talban Hadejia, Barrister Abdulfatah Abdulwahab, who confirmed the development while launching this year’s distribution at Hadejia, also said some of the items distributed include cash, animals and farm products.

He said about 29,134 less privileged people benefitted from the exercise in line with the Islamic provision of the distribution.

Barrister Abdulwahab said the committee had launched the 1442 Zakkat distribution with 80 less privileged people from the emirate and that N800,000 that was first received was disbursed during the launch.

Speaking earlier, the Emir of Hadejia, Alh Adamu Abubakar Maje, appealed to wealthy individuals to be more committed to assisting the less privileged.
